If not for her then…….

I have been in this corner many times before,
When the devil and his minions try desperately to even the score.
I have waged war with him over the years
And my God had to tell him “don’t kill him but you can bring him to tears”

So my journey has been set and my mother there in prayer,
She was keeping me alive for battles, but I was not yet aware.
I know that I have been spared the agony in my own life and the pain,
And you have saved my unworthy life again and again.

But today I am kneeling before heaven with only one plea,
God save my daughter’s life and if you have to please take me!
She has dodge a bullet or maybe two,
I have lived three life times and committed more crimes, please see with me and just let her go.

I know you said to reason, but lord I am so slow,
I would not know how to convince you but this I do know.
Your will is above me and I must obey,
So I will live out my days and my life I will fill with all of your praise.

I know the story of Hezekiah and when he turned to the wall,
I don’t want to disobedient so respectfully Father that is my call.
You are my Father and I said I will obey,
So why my lord does my daughter have to pay?

And if this a test of which I do not understand,
I am your humble servant Father talk to me and please take my hand.
So if this be your judgment, Father I still have one more cry,
Save my poor daughter from this; it is my crime, so if not for her Father then, do it for me.
